Spotlight on the WI 8th Congressional District

Republican Winner, Reid Ribble
Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District is located in the northeastern area of the state and includes Green Bay and Appleton. In the 2006 and 2008 elections, Democrat Steve Kagen faced Republican John Gard and defeated him both times. The political climate for this midterm did not favor Democrats to the extent the previous two did. Big government aficionado Kagen had a daunting task winning a third term in this historically Republican district. The pendulum swung back in the Republican’s favor. Political outsider Reid Ribble, roofing contracting owner/operator, won the Republican primary on September 14 with 50% of the vote over three competitors. Ribble brought 35 years of successful business experience into this race. He knows what it takes to create jobs and balance a budget. With his victory over Kagen, 55% to 45%, Ribble will carry his voice for fiscal sanity to the halls of Congress.

"I am concerned about my family's future and your family's as well. The career politicians in Washington have let us down. For the last forty years our leaders have been unable or unwilling to balance the budget and have expanded government to unsustainable levels. It's time for some common sense in Washington and promoting one more politician from State, County or City government has proven not to work. Since the career politicians have shown time and again that they cannot get the job done, I have decided to bring my 35 years of professional experience to Washington. Let's bring fiscal sanity back to our government and with your help it can happen."
Reid Ribble - Fiscal Responsibility, while Steve Kagen wastes trillions.
