Spotlight on the OH 1st Congressional District
Submitted by IP on Thu, 2010-04-15 12:03
Republican Winner, Steve Chabot
The 1st District of Ohio is situated along the banks of the Ohio River in the southwestern corner of Ohio and includes much of the City of Cincinnati. Following the 2000 Census and state redistricting, the 1st District was expanded to include all of western Hamilton County, additional communities in northern and eastern Hamilton County and portions of southwest Butler County. Steve Chabot (R) held this seat for 14 years, before losing in the Obama wave of 2008 to Steve Driehaus (D). Chabot mounted a great 2010 comeback, and snatched the seat in this historically R leaning district back from Driehaus, 52% to 45%.

You can be an important part of getting our country back on track - reversing the trend toward bigger government, bigger deficits, and more government control over our lives. Let’s get back to what the Founders had in mind; Let’s get back to following the Constitution. Let’s get back to what President Ronald Reagan envisioned when he talked about “that city on the hill."; It’s not too late. I hope to defeat the Pelosi-following Steve Driehaus this fall. Our chances are good as indicated by an independent SurveyUSA poll done a while back, showing I am beating Driehaus by 17 points, 56% to 39%.
