New Hampshire's First Congressional District covers the southeastern part of New Hampshire and consists of three general areas: Manchester, the Seacoast and the Lakes Region. Several Republicans, one being John Sununu, held this seat from 1985-2007. Carol Shea-Porter, extremist Democrat and the incumbent, was elected in 2006.
